Wellness Exams & Vaccinations

We are here to work with you to help keep your pet healthy. Our doctors provide comprehensive physical examinations for new pets, annual wellness, senior care, and medical conditions. Pets age faster than humans, which makes regular exams extremely important for their health. We work with you to monitor the health of your pet and ensure they live a long and happy life.

Vaccinations
Vaccinations are important to help protect your pet and give them longer, healthier lives. Rabies vaccines are required by law for pets since this disease poses a public health risk. There are other vaccines we may recommend based on your pet’s lifestyle, which can change throughout their life. We will work with you to customize a vaccine schedule and booster routine for your pet that will keep them healthy.

Cat getting Dental procedure at BRAC

Dental Care

Dental health is an important part of every pet’s well-being. To prevent dental disease, we recommend regular cleanings. During the dental procedure we clean and polish above and below the gum line to remove any accumulation of plaque and tartar. This helps to treat and prevent gum inflammation that is caused by the accumulated material. We also assess for any pockets or decay that may be present below the gum line. Digital dental radiographs help us evaluate the roots of the teeth as well as the bone of the jaw. If we identify any dental issues we will work with you to develop a treatment plan for your pet, to eliminate the pain, and ensure their long-term health.

All of our dental procedures are performed under general anesthesia as is recommended by the AVMA. For any nervous pet parents, we are happy to discuss the risks of anesthesia versus the benefits of dental care and help you decide what will be best for your pet.

Surgery

When the need arises for your pet to have surgery, no matter the procedure, your pet’s safety, and comfort are our first priority. We are pleased to provide a wide range of surgical services for our patients ranging from spay/neuter to mass removals and biopsies to eyelid correction surgeries. Feel free to consult with us about your pet’s specific surgical needs. We always take the entire patient into consideration when making recommendations for surgery.

Puppy & Kitten Care

In addition to requiring lots of love and attention, your new puppy or kitten needs to meet their veterinarian! Young animals require a lot of vaccines to keep them protected as their immune system develops. Even if your little guy is in perfect health, we can help answer all of your questions about housetraining, socializing, nutrition, training, parasite protection, pet insurance, when to spay/neuter, and more!

When possible, please send any vaccine records ahead of time. If you can’t send them prior to your appointment, then please bring any records you have with you to your first visit so we can review your pet’s vaccine and deworming history and work with you to create an individualized vaccine schedule for your pet.

Microchipping

Unlike a collar or tag which can be lost, destroyed, or inadvertently placed on the wrong pet, a microchip is a permanent form of identification for your pet. The microchip itself is the size of a grain of rice and has no internal energy source. A microchip can be implanted easily under the skin between the shoulder blades. We currently use HomeAgain microchips but have a universal scanner that can detect microchips from any manufacturer. Any microchip can be registered with HomeAgain – the nation’s largest microchip registry.

Pain Management

Pain can present in a lot of different ways and may be acute or chronic. Whether your pet is suffering from abdominal pain, broken limb, or arthritis we are committed to making sure we are addressing both the cause and the discomfort. We will help you recognize signs of pain in your pet and offer options best suited to you and your pet’s needs, with a focus on safe and effective pain management options.

Lab work at BRAC

Laboratory

Laboratory testing is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine that helps us detect and monitor medical conditions. We are proud to offer in-house diagnostic laboratory services with fast turn-around times.

Hospice & Euthanasia Services

We believe that end-of-life care should be approached with dignity and respect for the entire family. As pet owners ourselves, we feel it is important for your pet to be as comfortable as possible throughout their life. When no more can be done to extend the life of your beloved companion, we want to make the final moments you share together as easy as possible. We are here at any time to help discuss your pet’s quality of life and provide resources to help you make that difficult decision.

Pet loss can be devastating for owners of all ages. It is okay to grieve for the loss of your beloved companion. There are many resources available to help you work through the loss. If you find you are having trouble coping alone, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. We are here to help you in any way we can through the entire life (and loss) of your pet.

Fully Stocked Pharmacy

We strive to maintain a fully stocked in-house pharmacy to meet the medical and preventative needs of our patients. Our goal is to provide you with immediate and convenient services to help keep your pet healthy and happy. In order for us to provide your pet with a prescription – dispensed or written – we must have physically examined your pet at least once within the past 12 months and maintain a Vet-Client-Patient relationship. We also carry prescription diets from several different brands so we can find the right food to suit your pet.
